Terms of Service
These Terms of Service describe the rules for using SnapNote, including account use, public sharing, temporary notes, and service limitations.
1. Using the Service
SnapNote is a note-writing and note-sharing product designed for fast creation, temporary sharing, and lightweight collaboration.
By using SnapNote, you agree to use the product lawfully, responsibly, and in a way that does not harm the service, other users, or third parties.
2. Accounts
Authenticated workspaces currently use Google sign-in.
You are responsible for maintaining access to your Google account and for any activity performed through your authenticated workspace.
3. Public Links and Shared Notes
When you generate a public link, you are responsible for deciding who receives that link. Anyone with an active share link may be able to access the related note.
If the product indicates that a shared link is editable, anyone holding that active link may also be able to modify the note until the link is revoked or expires.
If you no longer want a shared note to remain accessible, revoke the link or allow it to expire.
4. Guest Notes and Expiry
Guest notes are temporary and must expire.
After expiry, guest links stop working and the associated temporary note may be deleted during cleanup. You should not rely on guest notes for permanent storage.
5. Acceptable Use
You may not use SnapNote to store, publish, or distribute content that is illegal, abusive, malicious, deceptive, infringing, or harmful.
That includes, without limitation:
- malware, phishing, or credential theft content
- harassment, threats, or abusive material
- illegal sexual content or exploitative material
- content that violates privacy, intellectual property, or other legal rights
- attempts to interfere with or abuse the infrastructure, application, or authentication systems
6. Availability and Changes
SnapNote may change over time. Features, limits, user flows, and share behavior may be updated, removed, or refined as the product evolves.
The service is provided on an as-available basis. Uptime, persistence, and uninterrupted availability are not guaranteed unless separately agreed by the operator of a deployment.
7. Data Loss and Backups
You are responsible for deciding whether SnapNote is appropriate for your content. Temporary guest notes can expire and be deleted. Shared links can be revoked. Notes can be deleted by users.
If you operate your own deployment, you are responsible for backups, database administration, infrastructure monitoring, and disaster recovery.
8. Limitation of Responsibility
To the maximum extent allowed by applicable law, SnapNote is provided without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted performance.
The operator of this service is not responsible for loss caused by expired guest notes, revoked links, user error, leaked shared URLs, infrastructure failures, or third-party authentication issues.
9. Termination or Restriction
Access may be limited, suspended, or terminated if the service is abused, used unlawfully, or operated in a way that threatens reliability or security.
10. Contact
If this is a self-hosted deployment, the instance operator is responsible for legal notices, support, and handling policy-related questions for that deployment.
